6. Franky Johnson

Young Ex-Streetfighter?, Adopted into Comfort.

Description:

Franky Johnson, Street Fighter, 14. Son of the current Heavyweight Champion, Jack Johnson. He was sent to an orphanage in Monterey, CA, in 1905 after his mother, Eloise Grettle, committed suicide and his father had no desire to take care of a child. Franky was an outsider as a mulato boy, his mother white and his father black. He left the orphanage when he was 10 in 1910, as he had no friends and was constantly being picked on. When he hit puberty in 1913, he shot to a height of 6’ 2". Not only was he extremely tall and awkward for his age, he also didn’t fit into the outside world. He wasn’t accepted by any social group, was homeless, and refused to steal. The only option available to him was to participate in street fights. Luckily, there was a very rich banker who enjoyed watching these illegal street fights named Henrich Shapiro. Henrich loved Franky’s will to win and freakish strength, but, after meeting Franky after a fight, learned that Franky was homeless. Henrich decided to adopt Franky. Now, Franky is living a comfortable life, getting a formal education, and has heard the calling to become a rabbi! Because of his proclivity to inspire people with his outlook on life and faith, Henrich has forbidden him to fight . . . . . . . .but that doesn’t mean that Franky hasn’t taken a few fights on the side. Franky has a lust for combat that he can’t deny. Hopefully his father doesn’t find out. . . .
